Consider our High Priest

Therefore, brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus/Yeshua, Whom we acknowledge as our Apostle and High Priest. For He [Yeshua] was faithful to the Almighty God Who appointed Him [IN His House Temple] even as Moses was faithful in all his house. ( See Hebrews 3 verse 1 thru 4.)

Just a point of information: In the KJV there are 15 THEREFORES' and 12 WHEREFORES' in the Hebrew writings. Therefore, perhaps the reasons for the therefores' and wherefores' are  there in the first place, is to reveal the passages that need to be closely examined to understand the TRUTH.

In the book of Hebrews, we see that God has issued His heavenly calling of Salvation to the author's brothers and sisters of Jewish blood who have first answered Holy God's Spirit of Grace.  Yahweh God's Offering of His free Gift of LIFE IN Christ Jesus is to inspire faith IN Yahweh God and His Messiah, for He  will provide the WAY for the Promise of Yahweh God's Holy Spirit of LIFE that is  to be given to those with believing obedience. For Moses, faithful to his house, gave testimony to Israel of those things which the Promised One would speak afterwards. 

I will raise  them up a Prophet from among their brothers, like unto thee [Moses], and I will put My Words IN His Mouth, and He shall Speak unto them all that I Shall Command Him. And it shall come to pass that whosoever will not hear MY Words which He shall speak IN MY NAME, I Will require it of him. (Deuteronomy 18 verse 18.)

And so the warning continues today: For Christ, as a Son over His Own House [Temple], Whose Temple we are, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope until the end.

Therefore, in abiding with the Word of Yahweh God IN Christ Jesus, we are Promised an Entrance into the Almighty's Rest thorough our obedient faith in the Word of Yahweh God. (See John 14 verse 18 thru 24.)

He that does not love Me does not keep My Word: And the Word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father's Who sent Me.  Today if you hear His Voice, do not harden your heart as in the day of provocation. The fuller Witness to this Word is given in King David's warnings in Psalm 95 seen in verse 8 thru 11.

So then, through the writers of scripture, we will witness that not all who are called, will be obedient to Yahweh God's calling that Promises to give rest to the soul of man.

The Infinite Yahweh God while dwelling in Eternity, created the fabric of time, and from the beginning to the end of time, the Almighty foreknew those who, upon hearing His calling Word, would obey His Word that Promised rest.  Yahweh God being able to observe the fabric of time, foreknew those to whom He predestined to be conformed into the glorious image of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus/Yeshua haMashiach. (See Romans 8 verse 28 thru 30.) In David's Psalm 95, the Spirit of God calls out to the people: Today, if you will hear His Voice: Then harden not your hearts, as in the provocation in the wilderness, when your fathers tempted Me and provoked Me: So I swore in My wrath, they shall not enter into My Rest. (Hebrews 3 verse 7 thru 11.)

The provocation, that took place in the wilderness, was at a place, which would be called Massah Mirabah.

At that time, the congregation of Israel had journeyed to Rephidim and found no water to drink.

Wherefore the people argued with Moses and said: Give us water that we may drink.  Moses said unto them: Why argue with me? Why do you provoke the Lord? (See Exodus 17 verse 3).

Hear the Word of the Lord in David's 95th Psalm:

Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said: It is a people that do err in their heart, and have not known My WAYS: Unto them I swore in My Wrath that they should not enter into My Rest. (Psalm 95 verse 11.)

Those that did not enter into God's Rest, were those who at their beginning journey with Moses, continued in sin's death and unbelief, and whose carcasses would fall and rot in the desert.  And so the author of Hebrews writes:

Let us fear [Yahweh God] less a promise being left off for us of entering into His Rest, and any of you come up short of the Promise. (See Hebrews 3 verse 15 thru 19, chapter 4 verse 1.)

With David speaking of "Today, if you will hear His Voice"; we are to know that today could be any one of the seven days of the week throughout the year, and while that day is yet called today and not a tomorrow that may not come; then do not close your ears to the Infinite Lord's beckoning call to sin's freedom within His Love that fosters our obedient faith.  While it is yet today, then choose today if you will serve the Lord, for today is the beginning unspecified day to live for the Lord! (See Joshua 24 verse 14 thru 15.)  

Take heed brethren, lest there be in any of you of an evil heart of unbelief, causing you to depart from the Living God.  But exhort one another daily, while it is called today; lest any of you be hardened thorough the deceitfulness of sin. (Hebrews 3 verse 12 thru 13.)

Although the previous passages were written to the Jew first, the TRUTH of the WORD in Hebrews 3 verse 12 thru 13, also holds True for the gentile believer, for Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God Almighty does not change IN His Holiness. The unchecked and wanton sins within the unbelieving flesh of man, can remove any one of us from the Promise of GOD Almighty.  Although the writer writes in Romans 8 verse 37 thru 39 that there are no entities that can remove us from the Love of God IN Christ Jesus, then note that there is no mention of the will of man coming up short in a return to his own unbelief.  Yahweh God Almighty is eternally faithful IN His Love for the members that are at rest IN the Body of His Beloved Son, Jesus/Yeshua haMashiach, but He will not override the will of any person that remains and is entrenched in their sins of carnal unbelief. The reader needs to review Romans 11 verses 16 thru 22 and reconsider the state of their faith IN the Covenant Word of Holy Lord Yahweh God Almighty.

Remember:

For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest He also spare not thee.  Therefore, behold the goodness and severity of God: On them which fell severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in His goodness: Otherwise thou also shall be cut off. 

Why would anyone abandon the calling of the Creator of all goodness, and return to their folly by succumbing to the deceit of sin that is outside of the Love of Holy God that abides IN His Son, Jesus Christ?

Today's day of unrest is just like any day of unrest that occurred within David's time; It is a people that do err in their heart, and have not known My Ways: (Psalm 95:10.) Where do we begin to find understanding in the WAY of God? 

For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits Eternity, whose Name [Yahweh] is Holy; I dwell in the High and Holy Place: Also with him that is of a contrite and humble spirit; to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. (See Isaiah 57 verse 15 thru 18.)

The Almighty God gives rest to the humble contrite souls who seek to follow Yahweh God with all their being: But Holy God Almighty will strike down to the dust of the earth the earthly person who remains in their wickedness. Hear the Lord Yahweh God's admonition to Israel, even as if it were addressed to the present day church. 

Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord.  Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow.  Though they be like crimson, they shall be as wool.  'If' you are willing and obedient, 'then' you will eat the good of the land: But 'if' you refuse and rebel, 'then' you shall be devoured with the Sword: For the Mouth of the Lord has spoken it. (Isaiah 1 verse 18 thru 20.)

Perchance if the Word of the Almighty God brings conviction to a person, then is today the day when the WAY of Christ's humility may be found in the soul of God's earthly creation?

Again we are able to perceive Yahweh God's WAY in His Eternal Word of LIFE, for,

Thus says the Lord: The heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool: What then is the house that you have built for Me, and where is the place of My rest: But to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and that trembles at My Word.  (See Isaiah 66 verse 1 thru 5.)

Hebrews 4 verse 1 thru 3, then 9 thru 11:

Therefore  let us fear, unless the promise of rest be absent from us.  For unto us believing Jews was the gospel preached, as well as to the unbelieving Jews.  But the Word preached did not profit them, for the Word was not united with faith to them that heard.  For we Jews which have heard and believe do enter into Yahweh God's rest, even as He has said.
For the works were finished before the foundation of the world.

For the Scriptures declare that Yahweh Elohim God Spoke of the Seventh Day in this Way: Yahweh Elohim rested on the Seventh Day from all of His Works. (See Genesis 2 verse 1 thru 3.) The Scriptures were not separated into section and verse until the 14th century.

If Yahweh Elohim rested from all of His works on the Seventh Day, called the Sabbath, then all of His creation works from the beginning to the end of His creation of time, had been fully accomplished. From the foundation of the world Yahweh God's Innocent Lamb would be slain for the sin of Adam/Man and Adam's kind.  The foundation of the world was to be created on the third day, but Yahweh God's Eternal Covenant would be fixed in time, even before He created the earth.  And so Yahweh Elohim God rested from all of His works of creation on the Seventh Day, waiting for the total fulfillment of His creation in time.

Hebrews 3:9Therefore there remains a rest for the people of Yahweh God. 3:10 If you have entered into Yahweh God's rest, then you have also ceased from your works, even as Yahweh God did from all of His Works. 3:11 Therefore let us labor to enter into His rest, less any of mankind fall after the same example of the unbeliever.

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.

14 Seeing then that we have a Great High Priest, (Yeshua haMashiach) that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of Yahweh God, let us hold fast our Profession (of Faith).
15 For we have not an High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but (our High Priest) was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Therefore let us  come boldly (through the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ) unto the Throne (Room) of (Yahweh God's) Grace (IN Christ), that we may obtain (His) Mercy, and find (His) Grace to help in (our) time of need.

I AM the WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE of man: No one comes to the Father except by Me.

From the beginning of Yahweh Elohim's creation of the fabric of time, the heavens have declared the Glory of the Creator of the universe.  The Almighty designer of the universe, created all things seen and unseen: And as the Creator of Man/Adam then any thing that earthly man would create was of the Almighty's unknown Nature.  It would be wise, for finite man to consider that all substance first came from the Almighty's creation of the of the universe and that of the earth. 

Solomon would build an earthly temple in Jerusalem, and then with a long prayer Solomon dedicated the Temple to be for the Glory of Yahweh God.  Yahweh God, speaking to Solomon, Said: He would hallow the temple, according specifically to Israel's compliance to Solomon's prayer, But even Solomon's finished earthly temple became defiled by His chosen people's earthly ways of esteeming their self accomplishments.  And so, true to God's Word, the first Temple was totally destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 BCE.  Watch Therefore: For what I say to one, I say to all!

A Side Note:  The Prophet Jeremiah, through Yahweh God's Spirit, knew before hand of the coming Babylonian siege on Jerusalem. Jeremiah prudently removed the Arc of the Covenant, along with the tabernacle contents, and then had the Holy Things hidden in a sealed cavern beneath Mount Mariah. They were originally discovered by Ron Wyatt.
