You ought to be Teachers

In his letter to the Jews, the writer admonishes the new Jewish believers for their failure to use their Jewish knowledge to rightly understand the High Priesthood of Yeshua haMashiach: This is the time that you ought to be teachers, but you have need that one teach you again the first principles of the Oracles of God.  (See Hebrews 5 verse 9 thru 14.) In these verses the writer reprimands the Jews, as if they were suckling babies in dire need of the pabulum of the Word of Yahweh God, rather than being skilled individuals who should know the Scriptures and God's WAY of Righteousness established IN His Love.  Apparently, the writer to the Hebrews, believing that they would already know the bare fundamentals of the Torah, will temporarily remove them from their little knowledge of Christ and rehearse with them the purpose of the Torah:

Therefore leaving the principles of the Doctrine of Christ/Messiah, let us go on unto maturity; not laying again the foundation [first principle] of repentance [change of mind\from dead [without life] works [of the priesthood] and faith toward God.

The dead works would speak of the animal sacrifices of the priesthood with their inability for the Jew's to do any good deeds to remove sins' condemnation of death.

In abandoning the shackles of sin, we, both Jew and Gentile, are to have faith in Holy Yahweh God and that His Promises in Messiah Yeshua/Jesus will not fail, for He, Yahweh Elohim is the embodiment of the TRUTH that is also the same IN His Word, that is His innocent  Lamb, Who is to be called at His birth as the Son of Adam, Yeshua haMashiach.

For when Yahweh God made promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself Saying: Surely with blessing, I will bless you, and with multiplying I will multiply you. For men will truly swear by the greater to an oath that will confirm; the end of all strife. Wherein Yahweh God, willing to more abundantly show unto the heirs of Promise the immutability of His Council,  He confirmed it by His Oath:

1:  For it was impossible for Yahweh God to lie.
2:  And because of this, we might have a strong consolation in fleeing to the refuge of His Word, and lay hold on the hope He set before us.
(See Hebrews 6 verse 13 thru 20.)

However, the writer of Hebrews gives a severe warning in his letter: For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the Heavenly Gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, (Yeshua's Holy Spirit) and tasted the good Word of Yahweh God and the Power of the world to come, if they should fall away, to renew them again unto repentance, seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh and put Him to an open shame. The same warning to the Hebrews  was written in Hebrews chapter 10 verse 28 thru 30. (Paul also warns of the falling away in 2nd Thessalonians 2 verse 3.) Obedience, brings blessings from the Almighty God: But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing, whose end is to be burned. But beloved, we are persuaded better things of [for] you and things that accompany Salvation, though we thus speak.  (Read full context Hebrews 6 verse 4 thru 9.)

From the beginning, it was imperative that the Lord Jesus/Yeshua would totally fulfill the righteous Word of Yahweh God in the Torah. (See Genesis 3 verse 15.) Yeshua/Jesus, the Word of God, was conceived in the original genetic flesh derived from the first Adam through his wife Ishshah, in English called Woman, and the WORD of Yahweh God, became the last Hebrew Man/Adam, the Christ/Messiah and the Holy One of God with us. The Man, Jesus/Yeshua, kept the whole heart of the Torah, and then was crucified to death for man-kind's nature of sin.  Jesus Christ, upon rising from the dead, by the Power of the Eternal Holy God, then the Son of Man/Adam, Yeshua haMashiach, became the Lord our Righteousness.  Jesus Christ, our Righteousness and our Peace with God, with the giving of His LIFE Blood, brought an end to the animal sacrifices and all of the former works ascribed within the Torah.

The Torah is seen to have been structurally segregated into ---

  1. Moral,

  2. Civil, dietary, and circumcision of the males of Judaism.

  3. Ceremonial instructions. pertaining to the sacrifice of specified animals, and

Those animal sacrifices expressed within the Law [Torah] could never bring God's justifying peace to the conscience of sinful man kind.  No, because they are animals and the life blood in the animals can not takeaway sin in mankind, for sin came by Man and guilty Man is accountable for his sin.  God, before the foundation of the world had already prepared for the sacrifice of a specific Man to pay for the sin of Man.  The Almighty had His own Lamb that He would give as  His own peace offering in the Love of His Only Begotten Son, Yeshua haMashiach.   The debt of death for the sin of Man kind, was paid by the innocent Man Jesus Christ.  But sin and death could not hold the innocent Jesus Christ in the grave, and God's Lamb rose from the dead.  Now whosoever believes in the Risen Messiah should not perish in the clutches of sin and death, but find Eternal Life IN Christ Jesus.  IN Christ Jesus, alone, does an obedient believer have rest from the weariness of the sin in this world.
For the Lord Jesus said:

These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: But be of good cheer: I have overcome the world. (John 16 verse 33.)
Come
unto Me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me; for I AM meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest unto your souls. My yoke is easy and My burden is Light.
(Matthew 11 verse 28 thru 30.)

Those animal blood sacrifices, expressed within the Law [Torah], were temporary sin atonements in the shedding of the life of the animal and needed to be performed daily from year to year. However, from before the foundation of the world, Yahweh Elohim had settled in His creation of time, His One Secure Sacrifice of His Lamb,  to be a Man of absolute genetic and spiritual purity, Whose crucifixion death at the hands of man, would pay for the sin of Adam and all of humanity, and thereby eternally satisfy Holy, Holy, Holy Yahweh Lord God Almighty. There are no more physical animal sacrifices for sin in Yahweh God's New Blood Covenant.  Once and for all time, the Only Holy Lord Almighty God gave His own peace offering in the Love of His Only Begotten Son, the Man Yeshua, so that whosoever believes in the Messiah should not perish in the clutches of sin and death, but find Eternal LIFE IN the Living Body of Jesus the Messiah.

Come
unto Me, all you that labor and are heavy laden [in sin], and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me; for I AM meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest unto your souls. My yoke is easy and My burden is Light.
(Matthew 11 verse 28 thru 30.)

Yes, it is sin that is the burden that we haul around within our earthly lives, and we have the propensity to add sin to habitual sin.

Oh wretched man that I am, who shall save me from this body of death.

All of you drink from the cup: For This is MY Blood of the New Covenant which is shed for you for the remission of sin: Even form the Foundation of the world.

Only the sinless Messiah Yeshua, the Christ of Yahweh God can relieve us of sin's crushing load. For the I AM that I AM is of a contrite Spirit and He is the only Peace that can deliver a soul into His rest. The Lord's burden is easy, for in TRUTH His Burden is that of Light. While the word 'light' in the Greek has a meaning of the absence of weight, however we might remember that the Lord is the Light of the World.  Therefore we might learn to live IN the Light of God and then we will find IN Him, rest for our souls.
